Goals for week 3!

I realized that I needed to be mindful of the Bachelorette watchers this week because apparently tomorrow is the finale so we are saving no TV for week 4. But, this week it's getting a bit more difficult.

1. Donate something everyday (clothing items to Goodwill, baked goods or vegetables from your garden to a neighbor, time donating blood- whatever you can think of to give away (and maybe clean out a closet in the meantime!)
2. Drive the posted speed limit exactly!
3. No desserts
4. Write in your journal
5. 25 consecutive minutes dedicated to exercise
6. Don't let ANY food go to waste (in your fridge, pantry or on- your kids plates!)
7. 64 ounces of water
8. 15 minutes of leisure reading
9. Pay a compliment to a stranger or spouse everyday
10. 10 minutes of stretching

BONUS GOAL- Research a non-profit organization that you currently know nothing about. Write about what you have learned when you post your points next Sunday- one of us may want to get involved in what you have researched!

Week 2 Results....

Wieek 2 Goals!

Here they are...5 goals will stay, 5 are changing this week.

1. 64 ounces of water
2. 20 minutes of exercise
3. Write in your journal
4. Read a leisure book for 20 minutes
5. Do something nice for someone outside of your family
6. No FAST food restaurant food
7. One vegetarian meal (doesn't have to be raw)
8. No soda
9. No dessert
10. 10 minutes of stretching

One more thing....This weeks Bonus Goal is- if you used reusable shopping bags every time you went shoping this week, give yourself an extra point!!

Week One Goals!

For every day you do each goal, you get a point for each goal. Sundays we do not count points- it is a free day. We will use Sundays to post our progress. Reminder- next Sunday, there will be a post titled: "Week 1 Results"- you will comment on that post with your total points for the week and any ideas you may have and how it is going for you. I will then take your comments and emails and post those next Sunday night so we can keep track of everyone. Week ONE

1. 64 fluid ounces of water
2. 20 minutes of exercise
3. Limit tv time to 1 hour (I guess you'll just have to watch 2nd half of "The Bachelorette")
4. Write in journal (any kind of journal)
5. Read a leisure book for 15 minutes
6. Do something kind for someone outside of your family
7. Eat 1 raw meal (fruits, veggies, nuts)
8. No restaurant food
9. Floss your teeth
10. Call or email a friend you haven't talked to in a long time

BONUS GOAL- You get one extra point if you do this this week!
WRITE A LETTER/EMAIL TO A GOV'T REPRESENTATIVE ABOUT AN ISSUE THAT CONCERNS YOU.

We are starting on Monday! If you have ideas about our weekly goals, please add your ideas and comments to this post so we can incorporate them. We could also have everyone take a week and come up with their own ten + bonus goal for that week. I am fine either way I just want to make sure it is fair for everyone. Let me know what you think! The Gold Star Game

So, I thought it would be fun to get together with a bunch of friends and family and get healthier. This isn't about pounds or inches lost (though hopefully that happens too). This is about earning points by accomplishing little goals each day. At the end of four months, we will see who has the most points and they will win the pot-o-cash. The cash comes from everyone pitching in $20.00 to join---so the more people we can talk into doing this, the more money we will win. So, if you are interested, comment on this post with your name and email address and I will contact you and add your money to the pot. I am hoping we have about 20 people so that pot would be $400.00- you get the idea. Here are some sample goals that you will earn your points for...

Daily goals for Week 1
64 ounces of water
20 minutes of exercise
5 small meals
zero minutes of television (not even tv on the computer)
No fast food/restaurant food
No soda (not even diet!)
Read a leisure book for 10 minutes
Have one meal that is entirely raw (fruits, veggies and/or nuts)
Get to bed by 11pm
Write in journal daily

Week one - daily bonus goal
If you followed a meal plan for your week, add a point everyday (except Sunday)

Now if you exercised for forty minutes instead of twenty, DO NOT double your points! You only get the points once. We won't be adding points on Sundays! Each Sunday, I will post an entry titled RESULTS FOR WEEK 1- then I will comment what my results were and you can add your comments. That is how we will keep track! I will also post a new list of goals each week that will increase in difficulty as we progress. There are going to be ten goals each week. If you want to keep track of inches lost or pounds lost, you are welcome to do it here but that will not add or subtract your points.
